It was in one of those unexpected meet up, when a friend of mine introduced me to the management of Touch Community Services to discuss about how to create an event to raise funds, and for the first time, I have a personal heart to heart talk with the team that builds TCS, and the more I know their hearts, the more I know this is one charity I want to assist and support.”

Most leading charities focus on provision of relief aids, research of medical sciences for patients, TCS on the other hand is one of the few that focuses in providing after care services for the poor and needy as well as supporting hand in hand with other charities such as Community Chest, Red Cross etc. They spend efforts in teaching the poor how to take care of themselves, how to recover from the crisis, and their elderly and children after care programmes are ones that have garnered much appreciation from the community.

It was with those knowledge, I decided the only fair platform I could build for TCS is to educate the marketplace leaders what TCS really means to the community. And honestly, through the various interviews conducted among the volunteers, the management and the recipients, I teared at the end of the journey to truly understand, the needs are out there. This is one small portion we could do to support them. And in a short span of 3 months, we gathered the partners whom we want to work together, the team managed to raise double the amount of funds they initially forecasted. Through it all, I discover a fundamental truth – everything is possible, if we have faith and passion to embrace a call, it is a privilege to give than to receive “

I wanted to create for Dr Lam a grand representation of him as a host as well as a recipient. As usual, he trusted my creative vision.  It was an intimate event held in his home for the delegates from the university, the professors and the assigned VIPs. It was an event filled with so much warmth and joy for the faculty and the family. What tugged at my heart most was his speech which was filled with such grace and gratitude that I was reminded once again that humility is the way for greater success, and that your character marks your identity.

When we were first approached to create an event to raise funds for Touch Community Services(TCS) Eldely Care, it was almost near end march 2015, and when we have had 3 months to create an event and gather the sponsors, we didnt think we could make it honestly, esp it was also during a period where we were packed with few other big events.

Our Directors, Hannah & Kim after their one to one session with the management of TCS, came back and informed us that we were going to support this non-profit organisation and help them to achieve the goals. In fact, it was very interesting, because earlier in 2015, both of them told us that one of the things they want to see the team achieve in 2015 was to do something good for the community, and just as they spoke, a call from TCS came and next we knew we were in to create an event in 3 months time.

What was impactful of this event was for the first time, we get to meet the recipients, and have an opportunity to really work with the team and volunteers supporting a charity.The more we know the vision of TCS, the more we believe it is a worthy call to share their vision to many in Singapore.
It was an event where we meet many like-minded marketplace leaders, and how each of them does their own part to serve the community. We are truly honoured to be a part to see this vision comes into completion.

Every year, we aim to create a different show concept with St Regis Singapore. This year’s theme is no exception – we called it the “Cirque de L’Amour”

In Heaven’s Gift, we always strive to design a show that depicts uniqueness and creativity from the norm, and yet at the same time, it gives inspirational ideas for our couples to imagine what they can do for their weddings i.e. To Engage, To Entertain and to Enjoy!

What excites us most is the energy everyone puts in for the 3hr showcase. From the stationery, the decor, to the partners’ booth and the programme, it was well thought of and put in with much efforts to depict the essence of the theme. And most importantly, the guests enjoyed the show, and we met our goals.

So here is a glimpse of what we have whipped out 2 Suns ago, it was an extravaganza experience.

Hannah’s Conceptualising Moment : “St Regis is one of the few hotels that I really fall in love with. I love the reflective walls, and especially the skylights of John Jacob Ballroom that somehow bestows a spectacular sense of grandeur into that venue. Whenever we design a wedding sets in the ballroom, the wedding will always look magnified and magical bcos of the reflective walls.
But what truly stands out as a great experience in planning a wedding in St Regis, is the complete sincerity and willingness demonstrated by the staff to support us and our couples to make the wedding a memorable experience. Be it the sales & marketing team, the banquet team, the bar tender, the bell captain even right to electrician, I feel at home whenever I am in St Regis. That is what truly matters. And I don’t say that to many hotels, this is one hotel I will consider when I have my own wedding one day.  And bcos of the relationship we have with the team, every event becomes spectacular.

This bespoke wedding show – Storied Love Affair, was one great illustration of the combination of great partnership with committed and creative team. It was a wedding show that I have no issues to be one of the hosts, bcos it was very easy to say truthfully what I really feel about a place. So here is a recap of what we have created for our couples.
And the final conclusion after the show : Our couples came back sharing with us : how they felt how refreshing the show was vs what they have seen, they are equipped with with in depth understanding how our partners work, but most importantly, St Regis met above their sales targets even with such a small intimate crowd.
That proves to us one very truth : when a team is focused and only envisioned the best for everyone including how we want to benefit our couples, we reap the rewards that go beyond our imaginations.”

Hannah’s Vision : “10 yrs ago, I have been dreaming of gathering like-minded people in the Creative and Special Events Industry for the longest time. It was a dream seemingly not able to come true then. When I first started in the wedding planning business, the journey was very lonely, everyone viewed you as an upcoming competitor to watch out for, and I often wonder who would be my co-partners. I invested and travelled all around the world to learn, and every time I was in a US conference, I reminded myself again and again, one day I would create a sharing platform for Asia.

And it took me 12 years to finally see that happen. I want to thank God for bringing Kim into my life, to believe in my vision, and to trust my leadership to lead her into greater heights that she can never have imagined. To me, I don’t see fellow planners as competitors, I have always seen them as collaborators, and I am glad I found 2 good pals like Kim and Anna from Spellbound Weddings. Often, competitions that are perceived wrongly create a lot of strife and the gossip around or within the industry harden your hearts, and you fail to see the joy of coming together. I have to go through these again and again through years of moulding and humbling, and I finally understood : to excel and grow is to first give and let go.

So I believe Leap Inspire 2016 is just the beginning and many more of such platforms will come and arise in Asia. And in this conference, we have witnessed how the conference has sparked off new relationships, foster new partnerships and most important install a level of trust and integrity in this industry for excellence and growth in the coming years.”
