Our Milestones

2023-2024: Back to our 1st Love

2023 was overflowed with many creative events and weddings, it was back to our early years, when we have the best couples, best corporate clients that simply trust us to deliver what we are good at : Envision, Create and Wow.

I found my 1st love back at weddings. In fact, I have intentionally stepped down from wedding planning when my mum got a major stroke in mid 2018, and diverted to focus on more corporate branding and special events. Never would anyone of us have expected COVID would strike. Yet the journey of stretching in those uncertain times, were used to sharpen our inner strengths and talents. In 2023, I only did 4 weddings, and it was some of the best moments in my 21 years of entrepreneurship. I thought I would not know how to connect to the next generation couples, but I was so wrong. We have experienced some of the kindest human, have the best laughs and clients eventually turn into pals.
It was a year I found my 1st love back! Glory to God.

2022: We turn Brand Strategist

2022 was the beginning of economic recovery from the pandemic. Unplanned and yet purposefully, we became the strategic partner for many hotels in the hospitality industry.

We pivoted as a company to provide branding strategies and elevate wedding identities for many of our hospitality partners, from the Pan Pacific Hotels Group, to the the St. Regis Singapore, JW Marriott in Marriott Group, even to local brands of Far East Hospitality. Beyond styling, we have provided strategic support and coached their in house partners to understand how to upsell and cross sell.
It was a year of crafting many wedding shows, that has helped our partners achieve their million dollars sales. At the end of 2022, we have hit a total of more than 12million sales from all our hospitality clients.

2021: Beyond Covid

2021 was the year where we have to think out of the box constantly. To stretch our creative expression against many covid restrictions and revisited reduced budget,  couples have put on small guest size weddings. Despite the constant changes made, we are steadfast in what we do : To go the extra mile to perfect our works, so we can put a smile on our couple’s face. And for this particular wedding, our Bride, Rias was tugged with gratitude the moment she saw our creation. That moment was worth it all for all the hard work.

2020: Innovation Amidst Covid19 Disruption

There’s a saying that goes : Crisis is the Mother of Innovation and Creativity. And that’s exactly what it says about the year 2020. 2020 is all about COVID 19 disruption, while many businesses especially the events world come to a stand still, Hannah and our team in Heaven’s Gift refuse to stand still, we believe as we continue to evolve and think out of the box, we create innovations that go beyond imaginations. And it is through this crisis, our Plexiglass Shields and Screens are designed and today, they become our solutions for our corporate clients and the hospitality world.

2019: The new wave of Heaven's Gift

2019 began with an excitement likened a new birth. The team was stretched in 2018, and as we persevered, we achieved beyond our sales, creating parties and corporate shows beyond weddings. It was the year of big parties and strategic shows to path the way for 2020. There is only one word we conclude for 2019 : We are grateful and we are blessed!

 

2018: The Next Generation of Heaven's Gift

2018 was the year that our Founder, Hannah decided to do a major restructuring within Heaven’s Gift to prepare the next wave for the organisation. Just as much as the future was unknown, Hannah knew that she has to empower the next generation and pass on the baton of leadership to them.

Maxine was promoted to Asst. Wedding Director and she took over the wedding planning department and make space for Hannah to continue to pursue her creative designs beyond weddings. At the same time, Hannah has aimed to work half time taking care of her family needs, and trusting that the company would be run independently and efficient despite of her absence. And her desired goal was eventually achieved, our team was ready to reap the fruits in 2019.

2017: Heaven's Gift Academy is birthed.

Through the journey of speaking and training in 2016 & early 2017, our Founder, Hannah Chong saw the gap in skills sets of wedding and event planners in the region, it is the heartbeat of Hannah to create a proper platform to empower the wedding planners and event professionals a systematic way of training and coaching.

Heaven’s Gift Academy (HGA) was birthed in early 2017.

To ensure HGA is well established and the courses are certified regionally, we continue to grow our academy curriculum and today, HGA is now the South East Asia virtual campus of The International Academy of Wedding & Event Planning (https://www.southeastasianweddingacademy.com) , a global leader in the area of wedding & event planning, styling & design education and has produced more than 3000 graduates today from around the world via its virtual campuses.

With an integrated face to face training and the online interactive courses, we aim to provide continual learnings to the wedding and event players in Asia, and to supply HGA graduates with the highest calibre and integrity into the workforce of the Weddings and Special Events Industry in Singapore and Asia.

2017: Our Founder, Hannah Chong travels around to speak.

After Leap Inspire conference was launched, many have heard about the vision of Leap Inspire, and came to collaborate and empower the wedding specialists in the special events industry.

Our Founder, Hannah Chong was further led into a few speaking assignments in the region. The first few assignments included a speaking engagement engaged by Tourism & Exhibition Authority of Bahrain, where Hannah was tasked to curate a training programme with a team of trainers, to coach the wedding entrepreneurs in the region. . Hannah spent a week’s time to understand the Bahrain’s hospitality needs and craft an intensive programme to train 100 executives staff from hoteliers and wedding industry about creating extraordinary events and how to grow the business in the special events industry.

Following that, she was also engaged as the keynote speaker in the All Things Malaysia conference for wedding professionals, and she would be speaking soon in New Orleans in the USA, in Jan 2018 at The Special Events Conference 2018.

2016: The 1st Leap Inspire Conference in Siem Reap

2016 kicked off with a bang as we launched the first Leap Inspire Conference for Creative Entrepreneurs. Taking place over 3 days in Siem Reap with 100 participants from countries like USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Philippines and Bahrain, we orchestrated every element of the event. From the travel, transport and accommodation of the participants, to the programme, décor, and themed galas – it was truly an experience to behold.
2016 continues to be a year of growth as our wedding projects take on a whole new level in scale and creativity. Handling and serving clients with large guest lists of more than 1500 attendees will allow us to be even bolder and more adventurous when it comes to creating spectacular designs and extraordinary experiences, beyond one’s imagination.

2015: A Natural Progression into Special Events Design & Consultancy

2015 was the season where we consolidated our capabilities and service offerings, moving into a new level of special events design and consultancy. Over the last decade, we understood the dynamic interplay between specials events and marketing strategy. Besides perfecting concept bridal shows for hoteliers to draw in the right clients, we also produced the first ever Touch Charity Gala for a non-profit organization, Touch Community Services, to raise funds within 3 months. A theatrical illusion extravaganza with a thoughtfully curated fine dining experience was crafted for 500 guests. Despite the short timeframe of 2 months, and in spite of it being an inaugural event for Touch Community Services, the event that we conceptualised and unveiled was able to garner $600K!  This was two times more than the fundraising target our client had initially envisioned.

2014: Our Next Leap: The Birth of Leap Inspire!

Over the span of their careers, Hannah and Kim harboured a desire to empower and inspire the next generation of creative entrepreneurs. Their personal journeys and challenges in entrepreneurship, as well as their observation of the industry, had deepened their passion for sharing and imparting their knowledge to aspiring entrepreneurs, coaching them on how to grow and sustain a creative business. After a company retreat in Cambodia, Leap Inspire LLP was born! It is to be an effective platform for start-ups and small business owners to share and collaborate through a series of biennial conferences for regional creative entrepreneurs to learn, share experiences, and ultimately find avenues to grow their creative businesses beyond their local borders.

2013: The Unexpected & Timely Merger

Heaven’s Gift merged with Wedding Concierge – a pioneering wedding planning company in Singapore in May 2013. Over the decade, Kim Tay – Founder & Managing Director of Wedding Concierge and our Creative Director – Hannah Chong, have forged and maintained a close friendship, supporting each other in the industry. It was in an unplanned discussion that the idea of a merger was first explored, and eventually Heaven’s Gift Wedding Concierge was birthed. Kim came on board and took on her current role as Heaven’s Gift’s Operations Director.
The combination of both their strengths – Hannah’s creative energy and Kim’s calm disposition was the perfect synergy for the next leap in Heaven’s Gift. We began to craft a new wave of bridal show concepts with reputable brands such as Singapore Tatler Weddings, The St. Regis Singapore, The Westin Singapore, Alkaff Mansion Ristorante, etc. Through these shows, we created immersive event experiences for our clients and their guests, engaging all their senses. We introduced new ways of dining & entertaining and created opportunities for our venue partners to sell their spaces and F&B offerings innovatively. Theatrical wedding shows like “The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party” at Alkaff Mansion, “Cirque de l’Amour” and “The Manhattan Paradise” with the St Regis Singapore broke the mould of traditional wedding showcases, whilst retaining our signature touch of timelessness.

2012: Launch of Celebrate Heaven - our E-Boutique

Our e-boutique is launched! With a desire to curate and provide quality party-ware and accessories for a discerning market, Hannah conceptualised and set up Celebrate Heaven – an online resource for fun and stylish party products from international brands like Talking Tables and Mischka Aoki.

2011: Expanded into more Overseas Projects

This was the year when we were awarded with many regional projects from Bali, Penang to Chennai. It was a year where we broadened our horizons, travelling, experiencing and learning about the different cultures so as to create the one of a kind event that will be the best representation of the party host(s). It was the same year that we had the privilege of working with many socialite families, creating luxurious celebrations for them in Singapore and beyond.

2010: Destination Seychelles

Heaven’s Gift goes to Seychelles! This was our first extensive architectural design for an overseas project. From the import of large amounts of raw materials to construct a 400sqm hanging trellis overlooking the coast, to finding a creative solution to stretch the venue’s capacity to accommodate an additonal 150 guests, and creating a “dining-under-the-stars” experience for the guests, this was an unforgettable event for us! This move from traditional mediums such as florals and lighting, to utilising new and unconventional materials in our décor concept was something we have always desired. To see our vision come to pass and successfully so is a vote of confidence for us! In the same year, we were awarded “Best Wedding Planners” in “The Best of Singapore 2010” by Singapore Tatler for the second year running.

2010: Our Brand Corporate Identity - The Olive Tree

In July, we unveiled our new icon “The Olive Tree by the Stream” as an extension of our corporate logo and identity. Inspired by our journey and a reminder of God’s faithfulness (Jeremiah 17:7-8) thus far, as well as the vision for our future, the evergreen tree is a symbol of enduring growth, rooted in steadfast philosophy and principles. We had been blessed with many great couples in the past 7 years, enabling us to create inspiring works for them, and we believe we will have many more amazing creations to come.

2009: International Exposure & Awards

Hannah was given an opportunity to work with internationally acclaimed celebrity event planner – Colin Cowie. For a week in Hong Kong, Hannah assisted and shadowed Colin during the launch of Mira Hotel – a new hotel designed and transformed by Colin himself. This experience served to reinforce the lessons she had previously gleaned, as well as sharpened her in the discipline of spatial design. It also broadened her perspective on events design and further developed her creative vision.
2009 was also the year we were awarded “Best Wedding Planners” by Singapore Tatler in their “The Best of Singapore 2009” editorial. In addition, Hannah was nominated for the annual Spirit of Enterprise Award.

2008: "The Cherry Blossom Tree" Blossoms!

Our very first spectacular stage design “The Cherry Blossom Fantasy” was born! For this couple and their guests, Hannah wanted to recreate the Hanami experience of cherry blossom trees blooming from dawn to dusk. However, her search for the perfect backdrop yielded little results. Turning obstacle into opportunity, Hannah, together with our in-house designer Elena, decided to create our own cherry blossom tree backdrop. Building on her vision, Hannah worked with her lightings crew and floral partner to perfect the construction. The final touch, depicting the transformation of the cherry blossom trees from day to night, was completed with Hannah’s direction of the lighting effects throughout the night. From the concept to the execution, every stage was well thought-out. This event illustrated our dedication towards perfection, which will serve to characterise the foundation of our future creations .

2007: Heaven's Gift goes abroad!

A breakthrough year for us as we began to extend our branches beyond Singapore to create spectacular events overseas. We produced our first destination wedding in the renowned Como Shambhala in Bali. In the same year, we ventured to Japan, assisting a couple in their events held at Hotel Seiyo Ginza and Ropponggi Hills Club Tokyo.

2006: Ventured into Bridal Shows

We participated in more wedding shows – Vera Wang Autumn Seasons by The Link with Female Brides Publications, Raffles Romance Weddings with Raffles Hotel.

2005: A Year of "Firsts" for Heaven's Gift!

Hannah launched a wedding educational workshop – the first of its kind in Singapore, to inspire wedding couples. Alongside other renowned local wedding vendors such as Amanda Lee Weddings, 39 East Photography, Vivid Shots, Substance Films and Poppy Restaurant, Hannah coached the couples through the steps to wedding planning and demonstrated the artistry behind creating thematic, yet elegant weddings. From the overall concept down to the intricate details, attendees were inspired with a fresh perspective on weddings. 2005 was also the year that Hannah decided to differentiate Heaven’s Gift as a concept planner, rather than a wedding coordinator.

2004: Heaven's Gift Pte Ltd was Birthed!

From a modest space in Maxwell House, Hannah took on dual roles of wedding planner & florist, and personally handled all floral arrangements for the weddings she planned.

2002 - 2003: Seed of Heaven's Gift is Sown

Hannah Chong, our Creative Director first discovered her love of  floral arrangements and weddings while helping her friends in their wedding decorations. She then decided to take up courses and training to master the skills of floral arrangements and wedding planning both locally and overseas. This was how the first seed of Heaven’s Gift was sowed in her very own heart.

Hannah Chong is Founder and Creative Director of Heaven’s Gift, a special events company specializing in luxury bespoke event experiences. Hannah started Heaven’s Gift in 2004 aiming to provide one-of-a-kind weddings and celebrations that perfectly reflects the unique story and personality of the host. Her knack for crafting spectacular celebrations that are imaginative, elegant and unlike any other has garnered countless recognition for Heaven’s Gift, and firmly established the company as a forerunner and trendsetter in the local and regional special events industry. In the last 17 years, Hannah and her team have designed and orchestrated hundreds of events, casting their creative magic all over the region, in places like Singapore, Bali, Chennai, Johor Bahru, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Penang and Tokyo.

In recognition of her contributions to the industry, Singapore Tatler awarded Hannah as the “Top Wedding Planner” for 10 years running. To date, many of her works continue to be featured in major publications such as The Straits Times, Business Times, Tatler Weddings, Icon Weddings, Prestige, Her World Brides, Female Brides, Style Weddings, and Style Me Pretty – a popular USA-based Bridal Portal.

Beyond just creating events, Hannah’s distinctive abilities to understand the interplay between creativity and business strategy has helped expand her business beyond the wedding industry. Her creative vision, business acumen and innate ability to understand her clients’ unspoken needs have enabled her to consistently penetrate new grounds and introduce innovative solutions to further expand the capacity of Heaven’s Gift and its strategic partners.

Prior to starting Heaven’s Gift, Hannah brought with her 10 years of corporate experiences in the corporate branding & training arena. As the former Group Account Director for Raytheon Professional Services, she was responsible for the overseeing and developing of South East Asia business units, closing and managing million dollars contracts in consulting and training services. Her experiences in this regional role have honed her astute project management and people skills, and made her dynamic and relevant to whom she is today.

In 2009, Hannah was also nominated for the Spirit of Enterprise Award. Over the span of her 20 years of career, Hannah has personally experienced the joy and challenges behind corporate life versus creative entrepreneurship. She is compelled by the need for an effective platform for creative entrepreneurs to share and collaborate. In 2014, she created a solution to this by establishing Leap Inspire – a Business Consultancy and platform to equip, empower and inspire a new generation of creative start-ups. Hannah Chong is a certified Professional Corporate Coach and Registered Business Coach with Worldwide Association of Business Coaches. She specialises in Business Development Coaching for Hospitality and Special Events Industry, Entrepreneur and Small Business Coaching. As a consummate entrepreneur, Hannah is regularly invited to speak and share her experience and expertise to fellow entrepreneurs, executives and tertiary students. Hannah holds a Bachelor of Science in Business & Management Studies (Marketing Specialisation) from University of Bradford, United Kingdom.

Maxine Teo Wedding Director

Maxine Teo is a key member of Heaven’s Gift and has been with the organisation since 2014. In her past 7 years with Heaven’s Gift, she has contributed extensively to the running of the wedding operations from client’s servicing, sourcing, to the coordination of the actual day events. She is also extensively involved with the creative team, assisting Hannah in the project management of many corporate events, from hotel wedding shows, product launches, and even in MICE event arena.

Her innate meticulous attribute has enabled her to project manage multiple events from concept to actual day deliverables and whipping each event to the desired experiential level that meet her client’s objectives. Today, Maxine assists Hannah to helm the wedding business of Heaven’s Gift, enabling Hannah to further expand her business acumen in Heaven’s Gift Corporate segment including being a  Brand Strategist to Hospitality Industry as well as  being Business Coach in Heaven’s Gift Academy. Maxine holds a Second Lower Honours in Bachelor of Science from National University of Singapore.
